Open now is the thought provoking exhibition: Power Hungry at Air Circulation in Brooklyn. A collaborative project between Henry Hargreaves and Caitlin Levin, these photographs will make you look at food in a new way.
“This project began with a look at the foods historical dictators have eaten. Quickly, though, our endeavor evolved as we saw stark similarities between past and present. It became abundantly clear how authoritarian regimes throughout history have used food as a weapon, systematically oppressing, silencing, and killing people through starvation.”
These raw, honest and serene images gives us a wider picture of what one’s world could be as the “have’s” or “have not’s”. Who knew the food held such power!
