The problem with New York is that everything is either too casual, too formal, or too douchy. Beautique has a nice feel of being upscale and clubby but catering to a more discerning crowd. The vibe is more Boujis / European / Paris, which is a refreshing change from tourist traps and commuter centric spots in Midtown.
Chef Craig Hopson brings his Michelin star-A-game from Le Cirque, and it shows. We started the evening off with a few of their creative cocktails which were superb. Dinner highlights included the limone spaghetti, soft shell crab tempura, chicken (addicting), and the steak (perfectly seared and pink inside). Melt in your mouth. Dark, sexy lighting, with beautiful chandeliers and leather banquettes all create a fun lively sexy atmosphere. Peppered in with the other power players was Leo DiCaprio, dining with a crew near us on one occasion.
After dinner, head to the secret back room which is through the kitchen and a dark hallway, opening up to a chill Parisian-style cocktail lounge. Soon this will be a tough door, so go now and get to know the managers to secure your “in”. Beautique is a cool, dressed up restaurant + lounge that’s perfect for client entertaining and dolled up dates. Finally a fabulously chic and tasty spot for the jet set. A definite GO.
